About The Artist
I grew up in Columbia, South Carolina, and now divide my time between Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina.  I love to travel and photograph life and landscapes for my paintings .   I am a self-taught contemporary artist  and my preferred art style is  impressionism.   I use strictly oil paint on linen canvas and enjoy painting large works.  I am inspired by life and all the beauty it has to offer.  I paint with emotion and am fascinated with color harmonies and regularly paint small color studies that I will later translate into larger  paintings.  I mix brush strokes with palette knives and  often drag the palette knife to merge all the colors together creating dimension and texture giving the painting a visual comfort of imperfection.  The goal of my paintings is to recreate the beauty and spirit of a subject or landscape with the hopes of bringing joy, peace and happiness to those that admire my work. .

I am a member of the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America and have participated in the Kiawah Art Guild as well as numerous group shows and workshops.
